2nd wife of Dr. James John Miles (buried next to James Miles)
Mother of Richard A. Miles of Texas
Remarried Henry R. D. Coleman 17 May 1859 in Charleston, Coles, IL. They return to Crittenden, KY. The 1870 census does not show Henry Coleman. He is probably dead by then. Nancy G. Coleman is a Farmer and her son, Richard A. Miles has a wife Malinda J. Miles. Samuel Thompson, 50 years old is living within the home. Possibly this is Nancy's brother. There is a black family with the surname of Coleman listed also in the census, possibly prior slaves of Henry Coleman. By 1880 Nancy G. Coleman has moved with Richard A. Miles and his family to Fort Bend, TX where he is Keeping a hotel and they are in what appears to be a boarding home with two children, Bassett R. Miles and Mary C. Miles. Prior to her death, Nancy visits her "adopted" daughter Mrs. Alexander C. Mitchell.
Mrs. Alexander Mitchell it seems is Caroline Harris who was living with James John Miles and Nancy G. Miles in 1850. Because her death occured in Charleston, she was buried next to James John Miles in the Old City Cemetery.
