Born December 6, 1918, in Menges Mills, he was the son of the late John Clair and Ester (Sanders) Diehl.
Mr. Diehl was a former member of Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, Hanover and his hobbies included writing poems and photography. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was the husband of Catherine E. "Kay" (Beck) Diehl, who died on March 2, 1998, and is survived by two brothers and a sister, Donald Diehl of Jefferson, Ken Diehl of Hanover, Dorothy Gross of York; three grandchildren, Vanessa Armagost of Spring Grove, Paul Becker, Jr., of Littlestown, Tammy Stonesifer of Altoona; great-granddaughter, Krishna Payne of Red Lion; two great-grandsons; and one great-great-grandson.
