CARSON, MARTHA - was born in Scott County, Tenn., July 8, 1891. Deceased this life in Scott County, Tenn., July 9, 1975 at the age of 84 years and 1 day. She was the daughter of the late JOHN LAXTON and the late PARSIDIA CHAMBERS LAXTON. Survivors: Four sons: ANDY CARSON, ALONZO CARSON, PRINCE CARSON, DEXTER CARSON all of Oneida; two brothers: SHERMAN LAXTON and ALVIN LAXTON both of Oneida; half brother: CLAUDE LAXTON of Oneida; half sister: GOLDIE KEETON of Oneida. She also leaves four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She professed faith in Christ and united with the New Salem Baptist Church, May 19, 1907 at the age of sixteen. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.
