M. C. "Joe" Collins died in Plainview hospital following a short illness. He was a retired farmer and a resident of the Plains for over 40 years.
Services will be held in the College Heights Baptist church. Burial will be in the Plainview Memorial Park.
Born in Rome, Georgia Mr. Collins came to the Plains in 1928 from Knox City and moved to Plainview in 1931 from Olton, TX. He married Bertha Stella Matthews January 26, 1908 in Desdemona, Eastland, Texas.
On January 26, 1958 Joe and Bertha celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary at their home in Plainview with their seven children present. They enjoyed many visitors including out-of-town guests.
