Mrs. Dendy Dies At Decatur 3 Home
Mrs. Sarah Bell Dendy, 71, died at 1 p.m. yesterday at her home on Decatur 3.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Austinville Church of God with the Rev. C. L. Best and the Rev. Ira Marion officiating. Burial is to be in Roselawn Cemetery with Brown Funeral Co. directing. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Surviving are the husband, J. L. Dendy, Decatur 3; three sons W. L. Dendy, James (Buster) Dendy, both of Decatur, George C. Dendy, Homestead, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Kate Swatzell, Mrs. Effie Sivley, both of Decatur 3, Mrs. Anne Hillis, Decatur; two brothers, S. A. Cain, Chattanooga, Henry Cain, Birmingham; two sisters, Mrs. Evie McCants, Decatur, Mrs. Dora Price, California; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The body is to be returned to the residence this afternoon and will lie in state at the church from 1-2 p.m. tomorrow.
