Emma, your husband (Riley Harrison Baggett) died in Dallas, Texas and is believed to be creamated. His father was Alfred Harrison Baggett, buried in Newlin Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana.

When I found your grave near Longville, La., I looked you up on the "net" and learned you had a California S.S. #, and knew you had to have married one of the Baggett boys near you in 1936, and then gone to Ca. with them. So today (11/16/09) I went to the DeRidder Clerk of Court Ofc. and found a copy of your marraige license and found who you (at age 24) had married at Center Ridge church, at Longville in Sept. 1936.

You & Riley had gone to California about the time some of Riley's relatives had previously gone to look for work. You lived in "California and you got your S.S. Number there". on your way back to Louisiana you & Riley stayed in Dallas, Tx. where Riley died. This was where your sister (Ethel Edna Irene Coleman-O'Connor) lived in 1991 when one of your brothers died. Your brothers Obit stated you were with your sister there. You & Riley had lived next door to your son Vernon in Dallas, Texas.
You died in DeRidder Jan. 2009, Then finally you were buried next to the family you first left in Memorial Baptist cemetery, north of Longville, La. What a long road you traveled, and then lived to tell others about it before you passed.

I called Walter Coleman, & he gladly furnished some of the above information.

You had at least one son (Vernon Riley Baggett) b)Aug 17, 1937, in Louisiana & died in Jan 15, 1964 in Longview, Gregg Co. Tx. and was buried in Dallas, Tx.

Your rest is well deserved..... You have EARNED IT!!
