Cyril Lincoln Ewer, oldest son of Abraham Lincoln and Lizzie Ewer, was born at Poole, Nebr., February 2, 1885, and passed away August 9, 1950, at the age of 65
years, six months and seven days.
On Nov.11, 1911, he was united in marriage to Ella Smith of Elmwood, Nebr. They lived one year at Miller and Poole, Nebr., before moving to Pleasanton where he engaged in the lumber business for 44 years, until the time of his death.
To this union nine children were born.
Three sons preceded him in death, two dying in infancy and Bruce on Aug. 24, 1949.
He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, Ella; five sons, Frederick of North Platte, Nebr., Russell of Cheyenne,
Wyo., Bernard of Omaha, Nebr., Duane of of Riverton, Nebr., Jack of Rapid City, S. D.; one daughter, Maybelle Coughtry, of Onawa, Ia,; eight grandchildren, two brothers, Herbert of Port Angeles, Wash., and Jack of Abilene, Kan.; one sister, Elizabeth Heinz of Abilene, Kan.' besides numerous other relatives and host of friends.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Ravenna for 35 years.
Funeral services were held from the United Brethren church at Pleasanton, Aug., 12, 1950 with the Rev. Giles officiating. Graveside rites were conducted by the
