In the year 1858 he emigrated with his family to Van Buren county, Iowa. In 1885 he died and was buried in Pittsburg Cemetery there. THIS information was printed and given to Davis descendants: Jane Bell Davis Leuthold(1890-1980)and David Franklin Davis(1878-1986) and Harold Wesley Davis(1922-2010) and others.
From "An Outline History of Counties of Ohio" published between 1840-1850: "Morgan County shows lists of townships of which Noble is one. Its population in 1840 was 1315. Average population in the county was 41 inhabitants to the square mile. Among other villages in the county with population in 1840 was Sarahsville, Ohio, population 55. Near here is the grave of Hester Hart, first wife of David Davis." (David Davis,son of Elijah, migrated from Winchester, Virginia to Morgan County, Ohio about 1819. He lived in Ohio 1819-1858. He migrated to Van Buren co, Iowa in 1858.) This information was printed and given to Davis descendants by Mrs. Sylvia C. Davis Pederson (1910-1984),dau of William Albert Davis, granddau of William Emmett Davis, and great granddau of David Davis Sr & Hester Hart DAvis.
