Mark "Cotton" Arthur, 50, of Solsberry passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Bloomington Hospital surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 4, 1959, in Bedford, IN, to Sharon (Todd) and L. Sonny Arthur. His father preceded him in death.

Mark graduated from Bloomington High School South. On May 6, 1995, he married the love of his life, Robin L. Head. He worked at Otis Elevator for more than 25 years. Most recently, he worked as a painter for Indiana University.

"Cotton" raced street stocks throughout central and southern Indiana for several years.

He was an avid hunter and loved his pets. He was a member of AmVets Post #2000.

Survivors include his wife, Robin; son, Christopher Head and his wife, Jessica; his mother, Sharon; his brothers, Terry Arthur and Gary "Lard" Arthur; nieces, Heather and Ashley; nephews, Kevin and Toby; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.

Services will be at the Allen Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. with visitation Sunday, Nov. 22 from 3-8 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 23, from noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
