Sonny was born to Amuel and Lucy Cheek Arthur. He married Sharon Todd, who survives, along with three sons, Terry, Gary and Mark. His mother also survives, nine sisters Carol Scott, Nancy Wilson, Pauline Mann, Marilyn Green, Eileen Conner, Audrey Duncan, Linda McKinney, Mary Ann Timmons, and Cheryl Hall, two brothers, Allen and Dennis and four grandchildren also survive.
He was a heavy equipment operator. A member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 841 and Eagles Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Bobby Lee Arthur.
Services will be at the Green and Harrell Mortuary with Steve Pettit officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Creek Cemetery.
