Virginia Barnett Kelly, age 75, of Houlka, died Wednesday, March 3, 1993 at North Mississippi Medical Center. Funeral services were held Friday, March 5 at Houlka United Methodist Church. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka with the Rev. Gerald Chaffin and the Rev. Dennis Fink officiating. Houlka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The daughter of the late Archie Clifton Barnett and the Lizzie Campbell Doss Barnett, she was a lifelong resident of Houlka. She was a member of Houlka United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Norris Kelly of Houlka; one daughter, Betty Houston of Houlka; one son Ted Brown, JR. of Houlka; three stepsons, Jimmy Kelly of Houlka, Rodney Kelly of Olive Branch and Eddie Kelly of Memphis, TN; one stepdaughter, Judy Carroun of Memphis, TN; three sisters, Carmen Latham and Edith Sims, both of Houlka and Lavenia Aron of Pontotoc; one brother, Archie Barnett of Phoenix, Arizona; six grand children and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tim Brown, Archie Brown, Terry Houston, Ronnie Brown, Jimmy Kelly and Rodney Kelly.
