MARY IRENE ROBEY, 93, formerly of St. Francis, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at St. Francis Nursing Center, Loretto. She was born Sept. 4, 1912, in St. Francis and was a former homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Clarence Robey ; a daughter, Mary Agnes Blair; her father, John P. Greenwell; her mother, Elizabeth Gill Greenwell; three sons, James Phillip, James Marion and David Doyle Robey; and half-brother, Marion O'Bryan. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara June Blaine, Bardstown, and Christine Prewitt, Mount Washington; three sons, J. B. Robey, Louisville, Mike Robey, St. Francis, and Tommy Robey, Loretto; 32 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Francis, with burial in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, New Hope. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be chief celebrant. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, including a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 6 p.m. Expression of sympathy may be made to Marion County Relay for Life, c/o Lisa Sandusky, 2890 Loretto Rd., Lebanon, KY 40033. Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
