Joseph Michael "Mike" Robey, 77, of St. Francis, Ky. passed away at 10:45 AM Monday January 24, 2011 at Village of Lebanon Nursing Home. He was born December 31, 1933 in Nelson County, Ky. Mr. Robey served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at General Electric for 36 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents: John Clarence and Mary Jane Greenwell Robey; one daughter - Denise Robey Edlin; one sister - Mary Agnes Blair; three brothers - David Doyle Robey and infants James Phillip and James Marion Robey. Survivors include: Four daughters - Debbie Robey, Susie Robey and Leah "Pootie" Mattingly, all of St. Francis, Ky. and Carol Jean Robey of Loretto, Ky.; four sons - Dennis Robey of New Haven, Ky., Mark, Mike and Dick Robey all of St. Francis, Ky.; two sisters - Barbara June Blaine of Bardstown, Ky. and Christine Prewitt of Mount Washington, Ky.; two brothers - J. B. Robey of Louisville, Ky. and Tommy Robey of Lebanon, Ky. 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial at 11 AM Thursday, January 27, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis, Ky. Celebrant: Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle. Interment: St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, New Hope, Ky. where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation: 3 - 9 PM Wednesday January 26, 2011 at Mattingly Funeral Home - 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, Ky. Prayer service will be at 5 PM Wednesday. Pallbearers will be his sons and Bobby Blair and Steve Ballard. Honorary pallbearers will be his daughters and J. P. Yates and Hatsy Mattingly.
