In 1942 she married Allen Kubik at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They farmed south of Traer and raised 3 sons, Larry, Ronald, and Tommie. Julia was well known for her delicious pies and love of gardening and flowers. She volunteered at Sunrise Hill Care Center for over 25 years and attended First Congregational Church in Traer. Allen passed away in March of 1987; Julia continued to live in Traer and traveled with her sister Martha to most of the lower 48 states.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Allen, 3 sisters; Lillian Kucera, Hattie Hanousek, Martha Kubik, and brother; Elmer Axler. She leaves three sons; Larry Kubik of Ankeny, Ronald (Ilse) Kubik of Traer, and Tom Kubik of Clutier, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, and a sister; Ida Kosnar of Traer.
Julia will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Overton Funeral Home (714 1st St, Traer, IA 50675). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Ripley United Church of Christ (400 S Main St, Traer, IA 50675).
