Funeral services for Vinc Axler, who died at Sunrise Hill Care Center Wednesday morning, January 2, of a heart attack, will be held today (Friday) at 1:30 p. m. at Erickson Funeral home. Interment will be in Buckingham cemetery. The Rev Robert Opperman, pastor of Ripley United Church of Christ, will officiate. Ruth Thomas will be organist and Mrs. LeRoy Dinsdale, soloist Pallbearers will be Felix Stepanek, Floyd Childs, LaVerne Plogmann, William Kopriva, Ralph Haack and Frank Sebetka. Mr. and Mrs. William Tams will be in charge of flowers.

Mr. Axler was born August 6, 1877, at Zelezny, Czechoslovakia, the son of James and Fannie Kavenda Axler. He came to America at the age of 21 and settled in the Traer community. He farmed north of; Traer before buying the home place south of Traer. He was married to Julia Salasek of Toledo March 24, 1914, at Toledo. They made their home on the home place south of Traer where the son, Elmer, now resides. To this union were born six children, Mrs. Anthony (Lillian) Kucera of Tama, Mrs. Joe (Ida) Kosnar of Traer, Mrs. Milo (Hattie) Hanousek of Dysart, Mrs. Richard (Martha) Kubik of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Allen (Julia) Kubik of Traer and Elmer of Traer. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley in Czechoslovakia, and James of Horsehead, New York. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife in 1964; one brother, two sisters, one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
