He was born February 7, 1891 in Jackson Township, the son of Benson and Belle Anderson Parson.
He was married March 30, 1917 to Blanche Cumpston who died September 28, 1969.
Mr. Parson was a driller in the oil and gas fields. A veteran of World War I and a member of Waynesburg V.F.W. Post 4793. At the time of his death he was a member of the Richhill Township Road Board on which he had served for the past 24 years. Also, a former Tax Collector and Democrat Committeeman in Richhill Township and a former foreman for the Pennsylvania Department of Highways.
He was also a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church at Wind Ridge. A member of Allepo Grange 2054 and serving as Gatekeeper, the Richhill Township Volunteer Fire Company and Greene County Pomona Grange 63.
Surviving are five sons: Charles, Jr., of Wind Ridge; James, of Graysville, R.D. 1; John, of Hundred, W. Va.; Frank, of Imperial, R.D. 1 and William, of Trafford; six daughters: Mrs. James (Nora) Caldwell, of Ninevah, R.D. 1; Mrs. Doris Engle, Waynesburg; Mrs. Floyd (Helen) Riley, Elkins, W. Va.; Mrs. Paul (Aldene) Tharp, of Cambridge, Ohio; Mrs. Wayne (Faye) Morris, Wind Ridge and Mrs. Max (Nell) Jones, Warren, Ohio; thirty-six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, George Parson, of Pine Bank and one sister, Mrs. Sam (Minnie) Masters, of Cameron, W. Va.
Deceased are two grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers.
