Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the
Longenecker Funeral Home for Mrs. Irene Mann, 78, of Steamboat Rock who passed away Saturday at the Eldora Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Walter Dimmlich, pastor of the Eldora Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Eldora Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Magnus Chelstad, Johnnie Ganiff, Clifford Johnson, Kenneth Hilton, Larry Mumper and Roy Mumper. Mrs. Bert Ibach and Mrs. T. H. McEvoy will be in charge of flowers. Mrs. Robert Longenecker will be the organist.
Irene Nible Reed Mann, the daughter of J. W. and Mary Liggett Nible, was born February 17, 1886 at Gowrie, Ia.
On November 25, 1915, she was united in marriage to Dr. Arthur N. Reed, an Eldora dentist, at Fort Dodge. Dr. Reed passed away at Eldora on March 22, 1943. On May 29, 1946, she married Allan Hector Mann at Kansas City, Kans. He passed away at Lincoln, Neb., on February 19, 1949.
Mrs. Mann spent most of her lifetime in the Eldora area. She taught school in Gowrie and also in the general area of Tipton township near Hubbard. She was a member of the Eldora Methodist Church, the 20th Century Study Club of Eldora, the City Federation of Woman's Clubs of Eldora and to the Cooties of the V. F. W. She served as president of the Women's Club between 1931 and 1933.
Having no children she raised a niece, Bonnie Mumper Zielske, who passed away in 1950. Mrs. Mann then went to live in the Don Zielske home at Steamboat Rock and raised the Zielske children, Jeanine now living in Wellsburg, Mrs. Jim (Lois) Rash of Steamboat Rock and Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Crosser of Ackley.
Mrs. Mann is survived by a brother Joe Nible of Dayton, Ia., and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Edna) Hilton of Otho, Is. Her parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
