She married Walter Oscar Hilton 16 Mar 1916. They were the parents of eight: Vivian Alice, Ruth Elizabeth, Hazel Lavonne, Lois Irene, Artis Lamerle, Kenneth Walter, Gladys Edna, and Beverly JoAnn.

"Mrs. Walter O. Hilton"
Funeral services for Mrs. Walter O. Hilton, 72, Otho, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Bruces Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert L. Nelson of Burnside Immanuel Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Hilton died at Lutheran Hospital Tuesday morning following a lengthy illness.
Surviving are her husband, Walter; a son and seven daughters, Kenneth, Mrs. Ruth Groat and Mrs. Mervin Oleson, all of Badger, Mrs. Leland Rosenquist, Burnside, Mrs. Don Horner, Fort Dodge, Mrs. Ivan Scruton,. El Toro, Calif., Mrs. Cecil Hanson, Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Charles Rabbitt, Otho; 37 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Nibel, Dayton.
Born and reared at Paton, Mrs. Hilton, the former Edna Gladys Nibel, taught school in the area before her marriage. She married Walter O. Hilton at Otho in 1916. They farmed in the Fort Dodge, Badger and Duncombe areas before retiring seven years ago and moving into Otho.
