"Walter O. Hilton"
Walter O. Hilton, 77, died Sunday morning at Friendship Haven's Health Center following a long illness. He had made his home at Friendship Haven since July 1967.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Bruces Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert L Nelson, of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Burnside, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
Surviving are seven daughters and one son, Mrs. Donald Horner, Mrs. Ruth Groat, Mrs. Mervin Oleson and Kenneth Hilton, all of Badger; Mrs. Ivan Scruton, El Toro, Calif., Mrs. Cecil Hanson, Whittier, Calif.; Mrs. Leland Rosenquist; Burnside; Mrs. Charles Rabbitt, Marshalltown; 38 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. F. I. Somers, Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Allan Pingel, Fort Dodge and George Hilton, Vista, Calif.
Mr. Hilton was born in Fort Dodge and married Edna G. Nibel in 1916 at Dayton. The couple farmed in the Fort Dodge, Badger and Duncombe areas before retiring about nine years ago and moving to Otho. Mrs. Hilton died two years ago.
