The service honoring Hazel's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, at Badger Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darryl Landsverk officiating. Interment will be in Blossom Hill Cemetery. The visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the Handicap Village in Mason City.
Hazel is survived by her children, Karen Fiebiger, Steven (Judy) Oleson, Ann (Andy) Drake, Phil Oleson and Nadine 'Deanie' Todd; daughter-in-law Barb Oleson; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and her sisters, Beverly Rabbitt and Ardis Hanson. She was preceded in death by her son Blake, her husband Mervin, her parents and five brothers and sisters.
Hazel Hilton, the daughter of Walter and Edna (Nibel) Hilton, was born October 20, 1919 on a farm east of Fort Dodge. She was reared in the Badger area and a graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. In 1939, Hazel was united in marriage to Mervin Oleson in Badger. She was a longtime employee at Friendship Haven before retiring in 1984.
Hazel was an active member of Badger Lutheran Church. She loved making kringles and spending time with her family, especially her three generations of grandchildren.
