"Country Correspondence - Worms"

A. Burns (sic) passed away last Sunday at his home. He was born in Oldenburg, Germany on October 28 (sic), 1839, reaching the age of seventy-two years, four months and twelve days. In the year 1869 he came to America and settled in Illinois, where he resided for years. Later on he moved to this state, and settled in the western part of Merrick county. Deceased was a member of the German Lutheran church of this place. There are two sons and one daughter left to mourn the loss of their father. They are Henry Buns (sic) of Palmer, William Bruns and Mrs. Aug. Kamper of this vicinity. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The pall bearers were J. Bader, C. Damman, J. Miller, A. Luebke, C. Bosselman and Mr. Eckert. Interment was made in the Worms cemetery.
