From The Palmer Journal, July 12, 1917, page 5, transcribed by Linda Berney:

Anna Caroline Wilhelmine Bernhardine Kamper, nee Bruns, was born August 18, 1870 near Okanville, (sic) Washington Co., Illinois. In 1885 she came with her parents to this state.

She was united in marriage to August Kamper October 27, 1887. This union lasted for almost 30 years, and was blessed with nine children, seven boys and two girls.

Mrs. Kamper finished her terrestrial journey July 5, 1917, aged 46 years, 10 months and 17 days.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, nine children, one grandchild, one son-in-law, two brothers, one half brother, and many other relatives, besides a wide circle of friends.

The funeral was held from the German Lutheran Church at this place Saturday, July 7, and the remains were laid to rest in our Silent City. (An earlier death notice indicated the service would be in both English and German.)
