Mrs. Nesemann, 81, Dies Early Sunday
Last of Kuehlmann Family Succumbs at Sheboygan; Rites Here Wednesday
Mrs. Hannah Nesemann, 81, widow of William H. Nesemann and a resident of Algoma most of her life, died early Sunday morning at Sheboygan Memorial hospital following an illness of several months. She was the last surviving member of a family of 12 children and had been residing with her sons, William and Edwin, inKohler and Sheboygan Falls, the past six years.
Born in Germany Nov. 23, 1866, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kuehlmann, the deceased came to the United States with her parents in 1869 an settled in Manitowoc.
A year later the family came to Algoma where Mrs. Nesemann attended St. Paul's Parochial school and was married in 1884 in St. Paul's Lutherna church to William Nesemann. following their marriage, the couple operated a farm near Algoma for four years and then returned to this city to make their home. Mr. Nesemann died in June, 1933, and his widow continued to reside in Algoma until 1942.
She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran church, Kohler, and was affiliated with the German Ladies' Aid society and the Kohler Woman's club.
Survivors are the two sons, William and Edwin; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The grandchildren include Edward Nesemann, Algoma, and Dr. R.M. Nesemann, Kewunee. One son, Reinhold, died in 1917.
Funeral servies were conducted at the Kroos Funeral home, Sheboygan, Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Edwin L. Burfeind, pastor of Bethany Outheran church at Kohler, officiating, and following the rites in that city the body was taken to Algoma where services were held 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Haucke Funeral home. The Rev. K.F. toepel, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church officiating and burial was in the Evergreens.
