Funeral services were held yesterday for Dr. Harry Scott Monroe and his wife, Nellie H. Durbin Monroe, both of whom perished in the flames of a vacation cottage near Florence on Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Monroe was born March 11, 1890, at Wind Ridge, a daughter of Hughes and Jane McGlumphy Durbin. The couple were members of the Wind Ridge Christian Church.
Mrs. Monroe is survived by three brothers, Thurman and J. B. Durbin, of Wind Ridge, and Ralph D. Durbin, of New Florence. The couple had no children.
