A.D. Hamilton was born in Sullivan County, Mo., April 24, 1856, and died April 5, 1927, at his home, 914 E. Cimaron St., Colorado Springs, Colo., aged 70 years, 11 months and 12 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Mary E. Bishop of Putnam county, Mo., March 5, 1876, and to this union was born: J. Lee Hamilton; Emma Howard; Elsie Blanchard; Lucy C. Hamilton; Edna Brown; Heirrold Hamilton; Charley E. Hamilton; Cleta Opal Walt. Opal Walt died December 2, 1922 in Colorado Springs. Three children died in infancy. All his children are residents of Colorado Springs except Chas. E., he living in Denver, Colo. All living children and the wife were at his bedside when he passed away. His last illness was from November 15, 1926 of Yellow Jaundice.
He united with the Christian church at the age of 19 under the preaching of W.M. Coffman at West Liberty, Mo. He lived a faithful and consistent christian life until his death, having filled offices of Deacon and Elder in the church.
Besides his faithful and devoted wife and children, three brothers and one sister, he leaves a host of friends here and in Missouri to mourn his death. He has been a resident of Colorado Springs for seven years; through all his sickness never murmured or complained of his condition. Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Matherson of the Christian Church here Saturday, the 9th, at 2 p.m. The Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of which he was a true and faithful member, will have charge, after which the remains will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs. --From Colorado Springs, Colorado.
