"Mrs. Bentz Dies at 96; Rites Set
Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Bentz, 96, 715 S. Fifth St., Norfolk, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran. The Rev. Martin Russert will officiate, and burial will be in New Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitations will be Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Bentz, who made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Florence McGinty, died about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday in a Norfolk hospital where she had been a patient since Nov. 3.
She was born Aug. 29, 1878 at Fremont to the late Mr. and Mrs. Claus Wagner and was married Oct. 10, 1900, also at Fremont, to the late Herman Bentz. The couple resided at Scribner and Spencer until moving to Norfolk in 1917.
Mrs. Bentz was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, one sister, two sons, two daughters and one grandson.
Surviving are three sons and four daughters, Robert Bentz, Mrs. Florence McGinty and Mrs. Gerald (Elizabeth) DeVore, all of Norfolk; John Bentz of Grand Blanc, Mich.; Earl Bentz of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mrs. Viola Newman of Lincoln; and Mrs. Richard (Alice) Daniell of Stanton; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren."
