Mr. Hovey was born on July 25, 1925 in Olney, the son of Cyril Jerome Sr. and Mabel (Skein) Hovey.
He married Mary Margaret Michels on May 30, 1948 at Elm Street Christian Church in Olney. She survives.
He was owner/operator of Hovey's Restaurant for 40 years. He was a member of Elm Street Christian Church in Olney, Vererans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Elks. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran during the invasions of Leyte and Okinawa.
Mr. Hovey is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Hovey of Olney; two daughters, Christine Simonson and her husband, Howard of Seattle, Wash., and Deborah Hocking and her husband, David of Chicago; three sons, Dan Hovey and his wife, Linda, Bruce Hovey and his wife, Michelle and John Hovey all of Olney; four sisters, Arlene Flick of Olney, Pauline Chaplin of Lexington, Ky., Mary Chaplin of Winter Haven, Fla. and Caroline Byrnes and her husband, Tom of East Moline; and 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
