Donald Davis, 84, of Richmond, died at 2:20 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Donald was born May 20, 1925 in Warrensburg, the son of Lonnie M. and Leona (Bolling) Davis. He married Virginia Pauline O'Dell of Richmond Nov. 9, 1947; she preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 2007.
Donald was a farmer and lived in Richmond most of his life. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church. Donald was a lifetime member of the Richmond VFW Post 4398. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Don Davis and his wife, Kim, Richmond; one daughter and her significant other, Monica Davis and Bob Thurber, Lawrence, Kan.; one sister, Juanita Teegarden, Richmond; and two grandchildren, Rachel Davis and Sarah Davis.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Davis and one sister, Helen Bryant.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Richmond, where military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 237 and Richmond VFW Post 4398.
