Joseph F. Trout, 88, mechanic
Joseph F. Trout, 88, of 2040 Oxford Road, Lincoln University, died of natural causes Wednesday afternoon at home.
A maintenance mechanic, Trout was self-employed in various trades.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served as a sergeant in Europe during World War II and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
Trout was a member of Oxford Church of God.
He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
Born in Georgetown, he was the son of the late Maris R. and Elsie M. Wimer Trout.
He was married 60 years to Janet Mowrer Trout.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Jane, married to Ted Bogan of Chesapeake, Va., Joyce, married to Martin Bagnall of Coatesville, and Joanne Whitenite of Lincoln University; a son, Joseph F. of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Maris W., of Quarryville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles M. and George M.
