JAMES OSMAN, 79, DIES--
James Osman, 79, of 104 Kagay street in Effingham, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Burton, Edgewood, at 5 p.m. Friday.
He was born Oct. 6, 1884 near Mason, the son of William and Melinda Alvis Osman. He operated a general store in Edgewood for most of his life.
Surviving are three sons, William of Edgewood, Charles of Tuscola and Dean of Kokomo, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Lorene Burton of Edgewood, Mrs. Eleanor Owens, Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Leta White of Effingham; one brother, A.E. Osman of Hutchinson, Kan., 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, at Johnson funeral home in Effingham. Rev. Lloyd Nelson will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Edgewood cemetery. Friends may call at anytime at the funeral home.
