Genrose "Geny" Schwarz , age 77, of New Holstein passed away Saturday April 17, 2004 at the Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
She was born April 8, 1927, in the Town of New Holstein, a daughter of the late Edwin and Alvina Mertnes Schmitz. Geny attended Holy Rosary Catholic Grade School.
On May 6, 1947, she married Gregor Schwarz at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, She and her husband farmed in the Town of New Holstein during their married life.
Geny was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein and the Christian Women's Society. She is survived by her husband, Gregor, of New Holstein, three sons, Gordan (JoAnn) Schwarz, John Schwarz and Gregory (Cathy) Schwarz all of New Holstein; three daughters, Mary(Duane) Haensgen of New Holstein, Rose (Terry) Wehse of Plymouth and Kristine and her fiancee' Luke Vander Velde of Elcho, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Schwarz, Robert, Melissa and Charles Schwarz, Pamela, Gregory and Steven Schwarz, Jayson and Amber Haensgen, and Ryan and Samantha Wehse. Further survived by three sisters, Frances Ninmer of New Holstein, Margaret (Carl) Gebhart of Chilton and Helen Reinl of New Holstein; numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and the many friends she made while her stay at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marion Schmitz and Agnes Hanke.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday April 21, 2004, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Rev. Frank Weber, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Tuesday April 20, 2004, from 4-7 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 9a.m. until the time of brief family rites at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein is assisting the family .
