Gerald Dean "Jerry" Coborn, 82, of Carlinville died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center.
He married Margaret MacKendrick in Bradford, PA on September 29, 1945.
He was born June 5, 1927, in Rock Island. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1945.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Coborn of Carlinville, IL; son, Daniel D. Coborn (Sally) of Plano, TX; granddaughters, Karina L. Pearce, Nicole "Nikki" Renee; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Coborn; and 2 brothers, Virgil and Keith Coborn.
Jerry graduated from Open Bible Institute and was ordained with the Assemblies of God in 1951. Jerry pastored 25 years, including: six Assemblies of God churches in Illinois and Iowa, 6 years in the Netherlands and ministered as a missionary evangelist in 64 countries worldwide, focusing on teaching Christian believers about the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the lives of individuals and in the Church.
Family and friends my visit from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2010, at First Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
