She was the widow of Dr. John Trout Herr, who died in 1953.
Mrs. Herr graduated from Millersville University in 1905. In 1985, she attended her 80th class reunion there and was identified as the university's oldest alumna.

Mrs. Herr taught school before her marriage.

She was also the oldest member of Zion Lutheran Church, Landisville, where she was active until the last few years.
Mrs. Herr enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and quilting, among other hobbies. Solving a crossword puzzle was a daily activity for her.
Born in East Hempfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin G. and Mary Hostetter Kauffman.
She is survived by one daughter, Anna Mary, Landisville.
