Funeral services for Stanley C. Petska, 68 who died Saturday Febr. 11 at his home in Ord were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St Mary's Auditorium with the Rev. Stanley Gorak officating.
Burial was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. The Rosery was recited Tue night in the Hastings-Pearson Chapel . Pallbearers were Paul Adamek, Don Petska, Emanuel Petska, Eugene Petska, Leonard Suminski, and Wilbert Calvin. Honorary Pallbearers were George Kasper, Lyle Sevenker, Robert Grove, Ronnie Petska, Jack Petska, Darrell McOstrich, Don Edwards, Harley Eschliman and John Gonnerman.
Stanley was born May 17 1898 in Valley County to Frank and Mary Beran Petska. He married Mary Adamek Nov 16 1921 in Ord Ne. The couple engaged in farming in Valley County until moving to Ord in 1952. Stanley worked for the Loup Valley Public Power District. He was a member of ZCBJ Dennis #14 Lodge and also a member of the Ord Catholic Church.
Mrs Petska died in 1963. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary ann Larsen of Hershey Ne., Mrs. Betty Kusek of Boring Or., and Lorene Meese of Ord Ne.; four sons, Richard of Hershey Ne., Lavern of Idaho Falls ID.,
Stanley of Wahoo NE., and Paul of Grand Island Ne., mother Mrs. Mary Petska of Ord, three brothers Joe of Ord, Lou of Grand Island and George of Orange Calif.two sisters Mrs Barbara Capek of Fort Morgan Colo. and Mrs Mary Highland of Riverton Wyo., and 30 grandchildren. He was proceded in death by his wife, father, two brothers, Jerry and Frank jr. and one granddaughter, Cynthia Petska.
