Stanley Petska was born April 19 1926 in Valley County to Stanley and Mary ann Adamek Petska. He was raised in Valley County and attended rural Valley County schools. He entered the United States Army and served during WW 11 from Nov 1944 to July 1946 He then worked for the REA at Ord for one year. He married Mary Ann Roe on April 6, 1953 at Ord. He worked at O A Kellison John Deere Implement as a parts man for four years before moving to Wahoo. At Wahoo he worked at the A L Novy Impleament and Wahoo Implement John Deere dealerships for 33 years. He retired in 1990 and moved to Ord. While at Wahoo he was a member of the St Wenceslaus Catholic Church. He was an Acolyte at the church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving 17 years as financial secretry of Wahoo Council #1833, was District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus. He was also active supporter of Wahoo's St Wenceslaus Grade School and Bishop Neumann High School; was a life member of the VFW and past member of the Wahoo Eagles.Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of Ord, one son Bob Petska of Ceresco, three daughters Debra Fraim and Sandy Otte of Wahoo and Judy Mink of Eagle, seven grandchildren, Two brothers Lavern of Portland Or,and Paul Petska of Hastings NE, Three sisters, Mary Ann Larsen of Alma, Betty Kusek of Boring OR, and Lorene Meese of Ord.
