J. Stanley Ottaway

J. Stanley Ottaway, 76, who for many years had served as assessor for the Town of Minden, died Wednesday morning at his home in Freybush. He had been in ill health for several years.

He was born Jan. 19, 1879, in Middlefield, a son of Moses and Marietta Bowers Ottaway.

Mr. Ottaway had served as assessor of the Town of Minden for some years and had at one time engaged in farming. He had been retired for a number of years and was a member of the Freysbush Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Rhoda Geesler Ottaway, Freysbush' a son, Harris, Schenectady; three grandchildren and two brothers, Charles and Clyde, Middlefield.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Gray funeral home, with the Rev. Albert T. Strobel, pastor of the Fort Plain methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.
