Ottaway Rites to be Held Tomorrow



Oneonta - Private funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ottaway, who were found dead at their Cliffside home Friday night, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home in Cooperstown. The Rev. Walter Miller, pastor of the Baptist Church in Gilbertsville, will officiate. Burial will be in the cemetery at Hartwick Seminary..

State Police discovered the bodies of the Ottaways Friday night, after both had been dead for some 10 days.

Otsego County Coroner Fisk Brooks of Oneonta issued a verdict of suicide in the case of Mr. ottaway, who was found slumped over at his home with a shotgun beside him.

his wife's death was attributed to natural causes.

A native of Burlington, Mrs. Ottaway was born June 11, 1888, daughter of Richard and Alice (Burke) Tuller.

Her husband was born in Middlefield Oct. 1, 1894, son of Moses and Marietta (Bowers) Ottaway.

He is survived by three brothers, clyde and Charles Ottaway, both of Middlefield, and Stanley Ottaway of Fort Plain.

Mrs. Ottaway has no immediate survivors.

THe couple had resided at Cliffside for the last three decades.
