His name was misspelled in military records. it was shown as Conkwright upon enlistment, but further records show his name spelled Conchright. Served in Civil War as  Private, C Company, 4th Kentucky Mounted Infantry. During Wilson's Raid to Macon, Georgia, he was captured by the Confederate Army and died as Prisoner of War in Macon County, Georgia.
