From Holland St. John - "Robert was the son of Robert H. and Margaret (Burlison) Duckworth of Black Township, Posey County, Indiana. He was born in 1842 on the family farm located near Farmersville, northwest of the present town of Mount Vernon in the southwestern corner of Indiana. His father married Margaret Burlison, daughter of a prominent Posey County pioneer family. Her parents were Aaron Burlison IV and Elizabeth Hampton. The family were members of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church located in Farmersville. Robert was the nephew of David and Margaret (Duckworth) Jones (my ancestors). Robert had eight brothers and sisters: John, Mary, Rachel, Aaron, Volley Emaline, William, Dorcus and David. His parents evidentally were rather successful farmers, as the 1870 US census recorded that the value of his property was worth $10,840, which was one of the highest value of farms listed at that time in the county. One source states that he died in 1851 indicating he lived only nine years; however, he is listed in the 1860 census as living at home with his family and his age is listed as eighteen years of age. This is more likely correct and the correct date of his death would be December 24, 1861. He is interred near his parents in the Phillips Graveyard (at times called "Burlison Graveyard" and also called the "Holleman Graveyard") located near Farmersville, Posey County, Indiana.:
