Catherine was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late Charlie M. and Jessie (Machac) Flaherty. She was a 1947 graduate of Bynum High School. On November 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Frank J. Bajer Jr. in Hillsboro. Catherine was a seamstress Malouf in Hillsboro for over 18 years before retiring in 1991. She also worked for Lorch Manufacturing in West and Lousa Rouge, where she made cheerleader uniforms. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and formerly of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, and canning. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on January 22, 1998; a daughter, Marilyn Bajer; a brother, Alphonse Flaherty; a sister, Angeline Flaherty; and a special friend, Alfons Mikuda.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Kaluza and husband, Ronnie, of West; sons: Frank J. Bajer III, of Mart, Larry Bajer, of Abbott, and David Bajer and wife, Cathy, of Robinson; grandchildren: Frank Bajer IV and wife, Brenda, Shane Kaluza, Adam Bajer, Brian Kaluza, Amy Windham and friend, Michael, Crystal Mire and husband, Scotty, Jamie Neal and husband, Allen, Brandi Green and husband, Lee, Kelly Deramee and husband, Chris, and Jessica Bajer and friend, Joey; great- grandchildren, Spencer, Zachary and Caitlyn; great great granddaughters, Jazette and Zoe; brother, Charlie Flaherty Jr.; sisters, Elizabeth Kunkel and Willie Mae Uptmor; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
