Norman W. Licht, age 83, of Baraboo died Sunday, February 11, 2001 at Wisconsin Dells Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Norman, the son of Herman W. and Agnes (Baumgarten) Licht was born on January 11, 1918 in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of North Freedom (WI) High School. Norman worked on his family farm in North Freedom until 1966. From that time on he was the custodian for St. Johns Lutheran School in Baraboo until his retirement in 1985. He was a volunteer at the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, and the Sauk County Commission on Aging Meal Site in Baraboo. Norman was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Baraboo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Agnes; a sister, Gertrude Pieper; and two brothers-in-law, Leonard King and Merlyne Pieper. Norman is survived by three sisters, Arloween Oyan of Waunakee, Althea (Burdell) Trow of Brooklyn, Wisconsin and Sylvia King of Poynette; and a brother, Marvin (Ruth) Licht of North Freedpom. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Baraboo.
Burial was made in Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
