Theodore W. Bennett
Theodore W. "Ted" Bennett, 68, a businessman and mechanic, died of natural causes at his home.
Born June 14, 1924, at Maudlow near Belgrade, he attended local schools and attended Northern Montana College until entering the U. S. Army during World War II.
He married Shirley Ann Whitcher in 1951 in Bozeman, and they lived in several Montana localities while he worked as a mechanic. He moved to the Helena area in 1960 and was employed by Bell Telephone until retiring in 1980. Since then he had operated Ted's Sharpening Shop.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was active in the Boy Scouts, search and rescue unit, Good Sam Club, and Telephone Pioneers.
Surviving are his wife of Helena; a son, Dalbert Bennett of Sonoma, Calif.; three daughters, Nikki Gleason and Gwenda Riddock of Helena and Theresa Bennett of Shelby; a brother, Oswald Bennett of Bozeman; six sisters, Evaline Mitchell, Martha McGuire, Lillie Thompson, and Sue Dorsey, of Bozeman, Betty Connor of Three Forks, and Sarah Hopkins of Jerome, Idaho; and 13 grandchildren.
