Mark Lambert Buried at Liberty
The Tuscumbia community lost one of its outstanding residents when Mark L. Lambert died Friday, November 30, at his home on Route 1. Funeral services were conducted the next day at Liberty Church by the Rev. G. P. Mayo and Elder C. P. Rinehart, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Lambent was born, in Prentiss County May 29, 1892, the son, of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lambert he had been a successful farmer and useful citizen, having served on the board of trustees for Tuscumbia School for many years. He was a member of Martin Hill Baptist Church, and had been in failing health for several months. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Nellie Kate Lauderdale; a son John W: Lambert, with the Armed Forces in Ft. Jackson, S.C.; and three daughters, Mrs. Edward Hare and Miss Peggy Lambert of Booneville, and Mrs. Lloyd Rinehart of Columbia, S. C. He also leaves seven, brothers and sisters, Bill Lambert, Omer Lambert, Audie Lambert, Columbus Lambert, Mrs. Cora Johnson, Mrs. Dell Carpenter, and Mrs. Ernest Smith, all of Booneville, and two grandchildren. Pallbearers included E. P. Lauderdale, Oscar Kelton, E. B. McCoy, J. P. Fraser, Leonard White, Arch Curtiss, Vance Rampley, R. B. Prichard, N. O. Hopkins, and M. L. Nabors. McMillan and Son had charge of funeral arrangements.
