Ferdinand first married Rebecca BARTLETT on 18 Nov 1851 in Harrison Co., VA, and to them were born children Clay and Cora. Rebecca died in 1859. On 10 Jan 1860 he married Ann LINDSEY in Iowa. They lived in Monroe Co., IA and Ferdinand served in the Civil War, 1 Aug 1862 - 24 Feb 1865, with the LINDSEY boys. He brought back James LINDSEY's watch after the siege of Vicksburg. He moved to Kansas, one mile east of Milan in August 1874. The Administrator of his estate was William Meuser. Heirs listed were Ann Wood, Clay Wood, Cory Thompson, nee Cora Wood, Maud Shoup, nee Maud Wood, Robert Wood, Jennie Wood, Charles Wood.
