1st ANNUAL CULLER FAMILY REUNION DECEMBER 25, 1898

The Culler family reunion, at the residence of the venerable patriarch of the clan, Abraham Culler, south-west of Columbiana, on Sunday last, was one of the largest attended and enjoyable of the many similar convocations, the leading and ordinarily most enjoyable feature was the dinner, which was not only abundant necessarily so to satisfy the cravings of nearly a hundred yearning Christmas stomachs, but prepared by those real masters of the culinary art, the good farmers' wives. The assemblage began to gather as early as 10:30 and soon after the spacious mansion was thronged by a happy convocation of relatives, young, old and middle-aged. Just before dinner was announced a Columbiana photographer succeeded in corralling the crowed in front of the residence and took an excellent picture of the assemblage. The hours succeeding dinner, which was served at mid-day, were devoted to musical and elocutionary exercises, the former being provided by the Elkton Quartette and the latter by Misses Culler and Metz. The time was mostly devoted, however, to renewing acquaintances and cementing friendships, until the early shadows of a winter's day admonished all that they should seek their homes.
The following is a list of the persons present: Abraham Culler and wife, the hosts; Louis Rummel, wife and daughters, Arthur Roller, wife and daughter, Hiram Culler, of Oceola, Kansas; Joseph Culler, wife daughter and son, of East Fairfield; Samantha Garwood, son and daughter, of Lisbon; C. L. Dickinson, wife and children, of Lisbon; Ellsworth Culler, of New Waterford; Will Culler and wife, of West Beaver; William Adams, wife, two daughters and son, of Millport; Perry Culler and wife, of Teegarden; Walter Culler and wife, of Middleton; Charles Metz, wife, son and two daughters, of Middleton; Mrs. Charles Dickey and two daughters, of Signal; David Havil, of Columbiana; and John W. Donnelly and wife, Mrs. Merrill Martin and daughter, Samuel Finch, wife and sons and J. M. Culler and daughter, all from Elkton and vicinity. The next family reunion will be held September 2, next, at Pine Hollow School house, Elkrun Township.

This next was a letter Abraham wrote to receive a military pension.
