Former Resident of County Dies

Mrs. Gus Ponto, a former Olmsted county resident, died this morning after an extended illness at her home in Brookings, S. D. She was 66 years old.

The former Elizabeth Wincle, she was born near Portage, Wis., December 8, 1874, and came here with her parents when she was a young girl. She moved to Brookings about 40 years ago, after her marriage to Gus Ponto.

Surviving are her husband, six sons, William, Arthur, Alvin, Edwin, Homer and Leslie Ponto, all of Brookings, and four daughters, Mrs. Gordon Bennett of Madison, S. D., and Mrs. Tillie Swark, Mrs. Claude Atchinson and another daughter, Margaret, of Brookings. Also surviving are a brother, William Wincle, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Heins and Mrs. Ward McIntire, all of Rochester, and four half-brothers, Charles, Edward, Henry and Emil Teske, and four half-sisters, Mrs. Carl Groth, Mrs. Otto Baker, Mrs. Otto Heins, all of Rochester, and Mrs. Louis Behnken of Viola.
