Mr. Stanley Carnes, 89, Russell Springs, died Saturday, June 10, at the Lake Cumberland Medical Center in Somerset. His wife, Lona Holt Carnes, died only three weeks ago, May 20, 1978. Survivors include three children, Edmon Carnes, Greensville, Mississippi, Mrs. Isabell Bernard, Russell Springs, and Clifford Carnes, Edinburg, Indiana; one sister, Mrs. Chena Winfrey, Russell Springs, 18 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Eliza Wooldridge and Joe Carnes. Funeral services were held Monday, June 12, at 1 p.m., at the Rippetoe Funeral Home with Rev. Carrol Egnew officiating. Interment was in the Carnes Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were the deacons and elders of the Russell Springs Christian Church. Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
