Sadly, on 16 April 1927, near Olivia, in Renville County, Minnesota, sorrow entered the home of Peter and Rosalie when their eight year old son succumbed to an illness that followed in the wake of measles that he had suffered a few weeks earlier. Medicines were of no help.
Benjamin’s funeral was held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. The Reverend Father Pamiie conducted the service.
Six of Benjamin’s friends were pallbearers; namely, Henry Herdina, James Dworshak, Clarence Jansen, Paul Tersteeg, John Visser, and Lawrence Kubesh.
Benjamin was buried in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota.
