He was the son of the late Rev. Clarke J. and Permelia Frances (Garthoff) Redmond. He is survived by two sons, Judson Collins Redmond of New York, NY and Trace Moorhead of Redmond, MI; a daughter, Quinn Moorhead Redmond of Bedford; a brother, Garth Stanley Redmond of Harrisburg; a brother, James William Redmond of New Paris; a sister Janet M. Redmond Krepps of Greenville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lita Moorhead Redmond.

He was a 1969 graduate of Altoona High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Penn State University and his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a retired school teacher for the Bedford Area. In the summers he worked as a carpenter. He was involved in Habitat for Humanity, AYSO soccer and Odyssey of the Mind. He was also a member of the SIDS support group and a member of the Altoona Area Alumni Association.
