He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and as a Methodist minister in PA and SC for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Permelia G. Redmond and a brother, Pringle Redmond. Surviving are his wife, Margie A. Redmond of Martinsburg, WV; children and spouses, Garth Redmond, Harry and Melissa Redmond, Jimmy and Paula Redmond, Janet Krepps and nine grandchildren, all of PA; twin sister, Edith Garthoff of PA, and sisters, Gaynelle Jumper and Katie Adkins of Swansea.
